Shawna Tully, MS, LMFT

“My goal in the therapy process is to help clients find hope and help them make the necessary changes they need to improve their lives. We often begin focusing on something they do very well in and transfer it to other areas of their life. I work with my clients to set personal goals that will yield lasting results. People who make changes only to please others often return to their bad habits. Through changes in thinking, perception of others and problem solving we can steadily transform their lives.”

Shawna has a special interest in couples and conflict resolution. She also enjoys healing of past family dysfunction, which deals with issues of drug and alcohol use, abuse of all types and relationship struggles. For those with depression and anxiety, she counsels clients to reframe their perspective of life’s situation to provide hope and a positive outlook no matter what their current circumstances are. Finally, Shawna also enjoys counseling families, teens and children to help them move through the life cycles in a healthy way.

Mrs. Tully has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1999. She received degrees in Psychology from Purdue University in 1993 and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 1995. In addition, Shawna has been a Clinical Member of AAMFT - American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy since 1998. Shawna Tully began her career at Family and Children’s Counseling Centers (now called Family and Children’s Place) as an intensive in-home therapist for families who were at risk for losing their children for abuse or neglect. Additionally, she was Director for the Avon Crisis Pregnancy Centers before joining Hendricks Therapy in 2005. She enjoys getting to work with her clients and staying involved with her church and community.
