Brad Mossbarger, PhD, HSPP

Every stage of life brings its own unique challenges and opportunities. While Dr. Mossbarger sees individuals and couples across the adult age span at Hendricks Therapy, a particular focus of his practice is working with "seasoned citizens" to maximize the opportunities of later life and to help them cope positively with emotional, cognitive and relationship challenges inherent to aging.  He conducts both assessment (memory/cognitive functioning) and therapy with older clientele, identifying areas in which they may benefit from additional support and helping them to navigate later years in the most satisfying manner possible.

Dr. Mossbarger received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Ohio State University, and both master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Ohio University. After completing his pre-doctoral internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida, he returned to his native Ohio and did private practice work, mental health service and consultation to nursing homes, and taught. He was an assistant professor at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee for three years. From 2008 to 2016, Dr. Mossbarger worked in the Older Adult Mental Health Clinic at the R.L. Roudebush Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Indianapolis and held an affiliate assistant clinical professorship with Indiana University’s School of Medicine (Psychiatry Department). He has published several articles in professional journals on issues relevant to gero-psychology.
