Brian Arwood earned a Bachelor of English degree from Purdue University in 2002, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University Kokomo in 2015, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Indiana University Kokomo in 2017, and a Post-Master’s Certificate as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2023. He will complete his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Purdue University in the Summer of 2024.
He has nine years of experience working with serious mental illness, mood and affect, and substance and alcohol addiction in an acute, general inpatient behavioral health unit. He teaches full-time as a faculty member of a nursing school in North Central Indiana, where he focuses on leadership, professionalism, collaboration, and psychiatric mental health.
Brian Arwood's life is a balance of professional excellence and personal fulfillment. He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, eating, walking, and reading. His family, which includes his wonderful wife and five children, is a source of joy and inspiration. He is also an active and engaged member of his community, serving in 4-H. However, his commitment to service extends beyond his community. He is a leader in the nursing profession, serving as President of the Indiana State Nurses Association and holding leadership positions in the Indiana League for Nursing and the American Nurses Association. His dedication to service and leadership is a testament to his character and his commitment to the nursing profession.
