Billing and Insurance
Welcome!
Fee payment is an important part of our collaboration. It is vital to maintain accurate phone and mailing contact information with our office.
Payment is expected when services are rendered unless you have made prior arrangements. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards for payment. A monthly account statement will be sent if you have a balance due.
We accept most insurance except Medicaid. Our office will file most insurance claims for you; deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance will be collected when services are rendered. Please note that for insurance purposes only, Hendricks Therapy was formerly operated as Hendricks County Psychotherapy.
Many of our therapists are contracted, in-network providers with the insurance carriers listed below (this may not be a complete list, so please check with your insurance carrier).
Questions to Ask Your Insurance Carrier:
Do I have mental health benefits?
What is the name of the Mental Health Network carrier?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is a referral required from my primary care physician?
Telehealth
Telehealth visits are usually covered by your insurance, similar to an in-person visit. For Telehealth visits, we require that a Credit Card be placed on file before your appointment. This makes the checkout process easier, faster, and more efficient. You will receive a Consent Form to complete during the Registration process. We will charge the card on file within two business days following your Telehealth visit. When your portion of the bill is determined (following a review of your copay, co-insurance, and deductible), we will only charge your card for the most recent visit minus the expected reimbursement agreed upon by your insurance carrier. This will not compromise your ability to dispute a charge or question your insurance company’s payment determination. We will also contact you for permission for any charges over $200. Please let us know if you would like a statement or receipt emailed to you.
Important Note:
Mental Health benefits in the majority of insurance plans are separate and different than traditional medical coverage. In addition, it is not uncommon for another company to serve as a contractor for your mental health benefits. THIS INFORMATION MAY NOT BE PROVIDED ON YOUR INSURANCE CARD. Please contact your insurance company to ensure your intended provider is indeed in your network.

Self-Pay Therapy Rates
Self-Pay Rate Information
We understand that seeking treatment for your mental health can be challenging and that the cost of treatment is a determining factor for many patients. We want you to have the information necessary to make the best decision for your treatment. We have created a list of charges for uninsured or self-pay patients who prefer to pay out-of-pocket.
*Please note that the rates listed below are for self-pay only, and amounts may differ for patients filing insurance claims.
Psychotherapy “Talk Therapy” Session
Our talk therapy session is a flexible platform for individuals to process and explore their thoughts in person or through Telehealth. Everyone's journey is unique, so the frequency of these sessions can be tailored to your needs, typically ranging from weekly to bi-weekly. Please see the rates below for new and existing patients. The cost for follow-up appointments differs depending on the type of clinician you are seeing. Please note the different rates below:
New Patient Appointment: $150
Follow-up Therapy Appointment with a Psychologist: $135
Follow-up Therapy Appointment with a Master Level Clinician: $125
Group Therapy
An important benefit of group counseling is that participants often share similar experiences and challenges. Receiving feedback from others in a supportive environment helps patients feel that they are not alone.
Psychiatric Medication Management Session
Our clinicians may recommend a Psychiatric Medication Management session as your first appointment. Medication Management is only provided by our board-certified Medical Doctors (Psychiatrists) or Nurse Practitioners (NPs). They can determine if medication is right for you and provide ongoing support. Your first appointment, whether in-person or online, is dedicated to evaluating your physical and mental health to provide medication that can alleviate mental health symptoms. It's important to note that this appointment does not include talk therapy.
New Patient Appointment: $200
Follow-up Appointment with a Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatrist: $120
No Surprise Fees for Psychiatric Medication Management Sessions
Psychiatric Medication Management appointments are typically monthly when starting a new treatment and go three to six months once treatment is stable. Depending on your need, treatment may be short-term or ongoing.
*Example Cost Breakdown:
Initial Medication Management appointment- $200
One-month follow-up- $120
Two-month follow-up- $120
Three-month follow-up- $120 (assuming stable treatment, the next follow-up may be scheduled three months out).
Your total at the three-month point would be $560
Six-month follow-up- $120 (next appointment scheduled three months out)
Nine-month follow-up- $120 (next appointment scheduled three months out)
Twelve-month follow-up- $120
Your example of the total cost paid for Self-Pay Medication Management would be $920 for the year.
