PLAINFIELD
Kathryn Witsaman graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling Art Therapy. Through her education and internship, she has helped people of all ages work through anxiety, depression, stress, chronic illness diagnoses and treatment, medical PTSD, and the grieving process.
Kathryn's practice is distinguished by her integrative perspective, combining traditional talk therapy techniques with art therapy. She combines techniques—such as person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy—with approaches from art therapy to foster creative problem-solving and a unique approach to many scenarios for which a client may seek counseling.
Kathryn is familiar with art materials and provides guidance to people of all skill levels. She is experienced in many different media, including drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, and even textile work, allowing each and every client to find a material that they find beneficial and enjoyable. Kathryn hopes that this unique, creative approach to therapy allows individuals to rediscover themselves, their passions and strengths, and even solutions to their reason for seeking counseling.
Kathryn loves to knit, crochet, sew, draw, bake, and play video games in her free time. She always seeks a new, creative hobby and enjoys challenging herself.
