Brian Arwood earned a Bachelor of English from Purdue University in 2002, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University Kokomo in 2015, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Indiana University Kokomo in 2017, and a Post-Master’s Certificate as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2023. He will complete his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Purdue University in the Summer of 2024.

He has 9 years of experience working with serious mental illness, mood and affect, and substance and alcohol addiction in an acute, general inpatient behavioral health unit. He teaches full-time as a faculty member of a school of nursing in North Central Indiana where he focuses on leadership, professionalism, collaboration, and psychiatric mental health.

Brian enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, eating, walking, and reading. He and his wonderful wife have five children together, four daughters and one son. He is active and engaged in his community serving in 4-H. He is active and engaged in the nursing profession serving as President of the Indiana State Nurses Association as well as leadership positions in the Indiana League for Nursing and American Nurses Association
