ADHD PATIENT HANDOUT

Hendricks Therapy offers certain testing services as an additional benefit for patients to assist in personalizing care, by adding objective measurements and reports to their medication management and/or therapy. Objective testing assists in diagnosing and targeting treatment for mental illnesses such as ADHD.

  • What is it: This in-person test is an FDA cleared and widely used objective approach to ADHD testing to assess core ADHD symptoms including: attention, movement, and impulsivity.

  • What to expect: If your provider suspects you may have ADHD or that you would benefit from testing, they will discuss this with you as well as how the results may impact your treatment plan. They will have you speak with our office staff to schedule a testing session and a follow up appointment minimum of 1-2 weeks after. Typically, the testing process will take 30 minutes from start to finish.

  • Who can benefit from testing: Individuals ages 6-60y who are being evaluated or treated for ADHD may benefit from the objective reports provided by ADHD testing. Results are helpful in determining a treatment plan and can also be provided to schools if needed to aid in processing a child’s IEP. Additionally, tests can be administered following medication administration to determine the effectiveness of the medication in adequately treating ADHD symptoms.

  • Cost: The billing amount for the ADHD test is $200. The self-pay rate is $175.
Many insurances, but not all, will cover testing services as part of your benefits. You may have a copay, coinsurance, or deductible out-of-pocket cost, but you will never pay more than the billed amount for the test.
Unless you elect the self-pay rate up front, we will file a claim with your insurance, and you will receive a bill if there any out-of-pocket costs.
