Kathryn Witsaman, MA, LMHCA

Kathryn Witsaman graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling Art Therapy. Through her education and internship, she has helped people from all ages work through anxiety, depression, stress, chronic illness diagnoses and treatment, medical PTSD, and the grieving process.

Kathryn practices from an integrative perspective, utilizing various therapeutic techniques to best suit each individuals’ needs. She combines traditional talk-therapy techniques - such as from person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy - with approaches from art therapy to foster creative problem solving and a unique approach to many different scenarios for which a client may seek counseling.

Kathryn is also able to adapt art materials and provide guidance to people of all skill levels. She is experienced in many different media, including drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, and even textile work, allowing each and every client to find a material that they find beneficial and enjoyable. Kathryn hopes that this unique, creative approach to therapy allows individuals to rediscover themselves, their passions and strengths, and even solutions to their reason for seeking counseling.

In her free time, Kathryn loves to knit, crochet, sew, draw, bake, and play video games. She is always looking for a new, creative hobby to try and enjoys challenging herself.
