Philip Borders, MD

DANVILLE & PLAINFIELD

With more than 30 years of practicing psychiatry, Dr. Philip Borders maintains that the practice of improving ones mental health should be seen as a basic component of someone’s overall health.

“Our patients not only seek healing, but display the courage and hard work to look at themselves, their lives and take positive steps to change. My goal for patients are symptom relief and personal growth; leading ultimately to them no longer needing our services.”

Dr. Borders works with his patients to identify their difficulties and map out a strategy to overcome roadblocks to meet their goals. He utilizes medication in patient care with the philosophy of prescribing the lowest effective dose.

A native Hoosier, Dr. Borders received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame. He attended Indiana University Medical School, and was Chief Resident at Indiana University Psychiatry Residency Program. Prior to opening Hendricks County Psychotherapy (now Hendricks Therapy), Dr. Borders managed an outpatient clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee and had a private practice in Ashland, Kentucky.  He is board certified and currently on staff at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana.
